We believe prayer is the most powerful way you can help! Raising children of trauma is never easy and the physical, emotional and spiritual needs are endless. Prayer is the foundation of our ministry, and because it’s a gift that can be given from anywhere, we’d like to invite you to join us.
Please follow us on Twitter to learn of our prayer needs as they occur and battle with us for the health, healing and hearts of our kids! Please note that for the safety and privacy of our kids, we will never identify them by name, but rather may use an initial or nickname to share the need. As a staff, we also welcome prayers for wisdom and endurance as we seek to do what’s best for each and every one of the kids.
While we are partially funded by the Costa Rica child services organization PANI, the amount they provide covers less than half of our monthly expenses. We are dependent on God and your generosity to survive! We have committed to live by faith, not credit, and with expenses anywhere from $15,000-$20,000 a month, we live in a constant state of awe in God’s faithfulness that we make it through. If you would like to partner with us, there are many ways you can help, ranging from one-time gifts, monthly donations or child sponsorship.
Online: Our friends at Living 127 process all of our contributions and taxes, ensuring that 100% of every donation comes to us. If you click on the “Donate” button at the top of the page, you will be redirected to the giving portal for Living 127 where you can easily set up a one-time or reoccuring donation. Just be sure to select “Residence of Life, Costa Rica” from the dropdown menu to direct your gift to us. The default option is “Supplies for Kids” which will go into the Living 127 general fund and be shared with all of the other orphanages they support.
Checks: A check made out to Residence of Life can be mailed to Residence of Life c/o Eric Teets, 3538 Mineola Dr., Sarasota, Florida 34239.
It really does take a village to raise a child! Especially 20 kids. And while we normally accept local volunteers, teams and interns, we are in a restructuring phase and feel the need to prioritize our kids during this transition. Once we’re back in a healthy routine and have established our new volunteer and team programs and housing, we’ll let you know!
With that being said, we are still accepting long-term interns. The applicant must speak basic Spanish, have a clean background check, a heart for serving and a willingness to spend anywhere from one month to 90 days with us! If you are interested in our intern program, please contact us at email@example.com for an application packet to get started.
